Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using similarity detection software prior to peer review.
    • Maximum acceptable similarity index: 15% overall
    • Excludes references, standard methodology, and properly cited text
    • Similarity above threshold may result in immediate rejection or return for revision
    • High similarity in core sections (Results, Discussion, or Conclusions) may result in rejection regardless of overall percentage
Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is not permitted.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship must follow internationally accepted criteria (ICMJE standards). To qualify as an author, individuals must meet all of the following:
    • Substantial contribution to study design, data collection, or analysis
    • Contribution to drafting or critical revision of the manuscript
    • Final approval of the submitted version
    • Accountability for all aspects of the work
The journal does not permit ghost authorship, guest authorship, or gift authorship. Any change in authorship after submission requires written consent from all authors.

Research Misconduct and Data Integrity

The journal strictly prohibits research misconduct, including:
    • Data fabrication
    • Data falsification
    • Image manipulation or inappropriate enhancement
    • Duplicate or redundant publication
Editorial Investigation Procedure:
When misconduct is suspected, the following process is applied:
    1. Preliminary editorial screening
    2. Similarity and data integrity verification
    3. Request for author explanation and supporting data
    4. Independent expert review (if required)
    5. Final editorial decision
Possible outcomes include:
    • Rejection of manuscript
    • Correction of published article
    • Retraction of published work
    • Notification to authors’ institutions
    • Temporary or permanent submission restrictions

Human and Animal Ethics

All research involving humans, animals, or regulated biological materials must comply with institutional, national, and international ethical standards.
Authors must provide:
    • Ethics approval name and reference number (where applicable)
    • Name of approving institutional review board or ethics committee
    • Statement of informed consent for human studies
    • Confirmation of animal welfare compliance with recognized guidelines
Studies lacking documentation of ethical approval may be rejected.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

The journal permits limited use of AI tools only for language editing and readability improvement.
The following restrictions apply:
    • AI tools must not generate scientific data, results, interpretations, or references
    • AI tools cannot be credited as authors
    • All AI use must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript (Methods or Acknowledgments section)
    • Authors remain fully responsible for all content generated or assisted by AI tools
The journal reserves the right to screen submissions for AI-generated content.

Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
Conflicts include:
    • Financial relationships
    • Institutional affiliations
    • Personal or professional relationships
    • Competitive academic interests
A formal conflict of interest statement must be included in all manuscripts.

Data Availability and Reproducibility

The journal supports open science and FAIR data principles.
    • A Data Availability Statement is mandatory for all research articles
    • Data must be deposited in recognized public repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Dryad, Figshare). A Data Availability Statement, including a persistent link or DOI, is required in all manuscripts. Where datasets are formally published and citable, they must be cited in the text and included in the reference list.
    • A persistent DOI or access link must be provided
    • Where data cannot be shared, authors must provide a clear justification
Manuscripts without sufficient data transparency may be rejected.

Corrections Policy

Corrections (Erratum or Corrigendum) are issued when:
    • Minor errors are identified in published articles
    • Errors do not affect the overall scientific conclusions
Corrections are linked to the original article and remain part of the permanent record.

Retraction Policy

Retractions are issued in accordance with COPE guidelines when:
    • Findings are unreliable due to error or misconduct
    • Data fabrication or falsification is confirmed
    • Ethical violations are identified
    • Duplicate publication is detected
Retracted articles will:
    • Remain publicly accessible
    • Be clearly marked as “Retracted.”
    • Include a transparent explanation of the reason for retraction

Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be issued when:
    • Serious allegations are under investigation
    • Evidence is inconclusive at the time of review
    • Further institutional or ethical review is required
This ensures transparency during ongoing investigations.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, and scientific quality.
    • The publisher has no influence on editorial decisions
    • Editors operate independently
    • All decisions are based on peer review and ethical compliance

Preprint Policy

JSED allows submission of manuscripts previously deposited in recognized preprint servers. Posting a manuscript as a preprint does not constitute prior publication. Authors must disclose preprint deposition at submission.

Peer Review Ethics

    • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality
    • No use of unpublished data
    • Objective and constructive reviews required
    • Conflicts must be declared

Appeals and Complaints Policy

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a justified written request to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals are evaluated independently, and decisions are final.

Post-Publication Discussion

The journal welcomes scholarly discussion of published articles. Readers may submit comments or correspondence, which may undergo editorial review prior to publication.
